How To Use Facebook Video Downloader

Hi everyone! In the following guide, we’ll show you a new and powerful way of downloading Facebook videos straight from the browser to your computer. If you ever found a funny or informative video that you wanted to safely save on your computer for later viewing or share it with someone who is not a Facebook user, this is the app for you.

Download the Installer

First, you’ll need to download the installer. The only operating system currently supported is Windows 10. Sorry Linux and Mac users:(. Once the app is installed, give it a few seconds before it starts working its magic. If you have a Facebook page already open, you need to refresh it or restart the browser.

You’ll see a frontend GUI pop up, but this is just a place where you can change your download destination settings or turn off the download button integration. Everything important happens directly on Facebook.

Integrate Download Icon

Once on FB, find a video you wish to download and pay close attention to the little gray icon in the upper right corner of the video player.

After clicking it, it opens a download progress indicator window. Wait that it actually tells you that the video has been successful downloaded. Once it is finished, you can click “Open download folder”. That will bring up a File Explorer window where it saved your video. You can now play this video in your favorite player. The process is identical for private FB videos.

Troubleshooting Tips

Here are a few troubleshooting tips: If you run into issues, where the download button is missing from videos or the popup tooltip complains it couldn’t find a video or a video never finished downloading, you should first try refreshing the page or restarting the browser. Sometimes, even restarting the PC can help.

Next, check if some other program is blocking our FVD app and make appropriate changes. This shouldn’t happen a lot, but it still happens sometimes and we can only fix it, if you tell us which AV program made a false positive detection.

Our program is safe to use, digitally signed and easily removable, if you no longer wish to use it. It is also possible that the app simply needs to be updated because FB changed their site design. Please, send us a message if you discover any issue whatsoever, so we can fix it ASAP!

Known issues:

In order to download a live video, you have to first wait for stream to be over and then refresh the video page.
Videos posted in FB Messenger are recognized as videos but the download button currently does not work. Try to open videos on their own page in new tab to bypass this problem.
Some videos on personal pages could have missing download icons. Try to open them in new tabs by clicking on the publish date that functions as an URL. Sometimes refreshing the page can also help.
